Deb here. We slept really well in Dave and Deb’s driveway. I left John sleeping and met Deb and her friend Marinell at 5:30 am for a walk. It was yet another beautiful day, and the three of us walked a brisk 5 mile walk around the neighborhood. Once back we ate breakfast, drank coffee and tea, chatted with Dave and Deb, and then said our goodbyes.
We drove to Trader Joe’s in South Burlington for some food to take to Meg’s, and then headed up Rt 89 to St. Albans. We were so happy that the stars had aligned for us, and that we were going to cross paths with Erick and Hannah at Erick’s mom’s (Meg) home in St. Albans. We arrived at Meg’s home by late morning, Hannah and Erick had driven here from Greensport, NY for a visit with Meg before continuing on to Belfast, ME to finalize their purchase of a new boat (Bonnie Lynn). We all enjoyed a pasta salad lunch that Hannah made, and then spent time sitting in the sunshine on Meg’s deck and catching up. Meg is 96 years old, sharp as a tack, and still lives in her home. John and Erick took a walk into town while the rest of us hung out.
At 4:30 Erick’s brother Don and his wife Lesleigh, and his brother Dana and his wife Barb, all arrived for a gathering. Erick had prepared delicious veggie, meat, and shrimp kabobs, and a good time was had by all. It was great having the chance to get to know Erick’s family.
Around 8 we said our goodbyes and headed out to our van (parked in the driveway) and to bed.
