Deb signed us up for a 2-¼ walking tour in Munich focused on the history of the Third Reich. Our tour guide, Jake, was a very fun guy from the U.S. who moved here 15 years ago, married a German woman and is sending his twin girls to school tomorrow. Great tour guide with good info and a fun personality.
It is cool to be standing in a village square, the same square that Hitler held rallies. Germany seems to keep their history exposed so that they will never make the same mistakes and also that other countries can never let these kinds of atrocities happen again. A very good tour.
After the museums we met at the huge outdoor food market and split a sandwich. We stopped at a little church and then went back to the hotel to rest up a bit. Later we found an Italian restaurant a few blocks away and had pizza and a salad. We are finding that we are getting burned out on all the heavy German food and need a break. Last night we had Lebanese food which is also a bit heavy. We are longing for French food again! Then back to the hotel to bed.
